Our company is a successful construction and design-build engineering firm entering its 35th year of operations, with over 60 employees in the field. As we continue to expand our operations across Alberta, we are currently seeking an experienced Construction Site Superintendent to join our team on a contract basis.

Position Overview
The Construction Site Superintendent is responsible for overseeing all on-site construction activities and coordinating trades, subcontractors, suppliers, and consultants to ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, on schedule, and to the highest quality standards.
Working closely with the Project Manager and project team, the successful candidate will provide leadership in site operations, safety management, scheduling, quality control, and project execution.
Job Duties
- Provide leadership and supervision for all on-site construction activities
- Review project plans, specifications, and schedules prior to project start
- Assist with site setup, logistics planning, and mobilization requirements
- Coordinate and supervise subcontractors, suppliers, and site personnel
- Maintain project schedules and ensure work progresses according to plan
- Conduct regular site inspections to ensure compliance with drawings, specifications, quality standards, and safety regulations
- Identify and communicate project issues, deficiencies, and schedule concerns to the Project Manager
- Ensure all work is completed in accordance with Occupational Health & Safety regulations and company policies
- Monitor workmanship and maintain quality control standards throughout the project
- Coordinate and document project deficiencies and corrective actions
- Assist with project documentation including daily reports, progress tracking, and as-built information
- Maintain organized and professional job site conditions at all times
- Lead and promote a strong safety culture on site
- Participate in project meetings with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and internal teams
Qualifications
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in a Site Superintendent or construction supervisory role
- Strong background in industrial and/or commercial construction
- Extensive knowledge of construction methods, sequencing, and site coordination
- Strong understanding of Alberta Occupational Health & Safety regulations
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications
- Proven leadership, communication, and team management skills
- Strong organizational and problem-solving abilities
- High attention to detail and quality control standards
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
Safety Requirements
- Strong commitment to workplace safety and OH&S standards
- Valid safety certifications are required
- Additional site-specific safety training may be required
Working Conditions
- Primarily field-based work environment in Calgary and surrounding areas
- Work may be performed indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Physically demanding tasks and extended hours may be required to meet project schedules
- Regular interaction with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and project stakeholders
